Hey there, welcome! I’m Mariam, a front-end web developer, UX/UI designer, and digital content creator with a passion for aesthetics. I design digital solutions for both the teams I work on, and for the end user.
I’m a graduate from BCIT’s Technical Web Design program with hands on experience designing and coding websites from scratch. I’ve always had a love for layouts, design, and usability – my ultimate aim is to create joyful digital experiences.
Previous to my career in tech I was an event planner in the Vancouver, BC area. I produced and marketed numerous events, including for Oxfam UBC, Viaggio Hospitality Group, the Fringe Festival, TED Talks, the Chamber of Shipping of BC, and most recently for Kids Help Phone. It turns out event planning is not entirely unlike tech: it’s all in the details!
Throughout my professional experiences I have connected with audiences and lead the digital presence for the organizations I worked with, including designing websites, email marketing, and creating other marketing collateral.
I hold a BA in Sociology and English Literature from the University of British Columbia.
